PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
Sweets by Rosebud is a small business specializing in personalized cookies for a variety of occasions, from bridal and baby showers to golf tournaments and Super Bowl parties. I partnered closely with the owner to develop a brand identity that captured the heartfelt meaning behind the company’s name and reflected their playful, personal approach to custom cookie design.
The project began with in-depth conversations about the brand story and customer experience. Through collaborative brainstorming, I created a series of rough pencil sketches to explore different visual directions. Based on client feedback, I refined the top five concepts digitally in Illustrator, ultimately focusing on two sketches for further development with color and detail exploration.
The final logo features an illustrated cookie with a whimsical pink spiral resembling a rose about to bloom, accented by a soft green arch suggesting foliage. A light brown offset outline hints at a frosted cookie edge, while small darker pink dots add movement and texture. The business name is placed subtly along the lower right arch — clean, approachable, and supportive of the central image without overpowering it.
In addition to the primary logo, I developed a complete brand kit, including full-color, black-and-white, and one- and two-color logo variations. I also defined a complementary color palette for future brand applications. To help the client visualize the brand in the real world, I created Photoshop mockups showcasing the logo on aprons, t-shirts (front and back), product tags, labels, and tissue paper.
This project combined thoughtful storytelling with playful design, helping Sweets by Rosebud establish a memorable, versatile identity for their growing business.
